OK - had one or two emails over the weekend from people who missed out on ordering "Buried Treasure II" and "EIS Live".

As a one off (and this *really* can not be done again) the production run of the CDs has been extended, therefore the CDs are now available again via the EIS Store:

Please remember that "limited edition" means exactly that. The production run will not (and actually can not) be extended again.

If you are having issues using your credit / debit card for payment then you can pay by cheque / postal order / international money order (in pound sterling and made payable to "Erasure Information Service") - however please contact me first before you do so.

As a consequence of increasing the production run of these CDs, it is doubtful that these latter orders will be sent out in time for Christmas - the EIS is one person who has other tasks to do as well.

There are some short audio samples from both CDs in Windows Media and Real Media formats here:

'Buried Treasure II' and 'EIS Live' Availability

- These two limited edition CDs will be available for pre-order via the EIS online store next week.

- Stock is expected to arrive at the EIS ready for dispach within 7-10 days from the start of the pre-order.

- You may pre-order the CDs individually or for a discounted price as a pair (i.e both 'Buried Treasure II' & 'EIS Live' together.)

- I'm doing a pre-order as it will enable me to print out address labels / packing slips / get organised etc before the CDs arrive, plus will enable any payment or other issues that you may have to be sorted more easily (and before I'm elbow deep in CDs and packaging materials!)

- I will send out an e-mail newsletter to inform you when the CDs are available for the online pre-ordering.

- There is no pre-requisite to be a member of the EIS Forum / a former paying member of the fan club or anything else in order to "qualify" for purchasing these CDs - they may be purchased in exactly the same manner as any other item available via the EIS online store.

- As these CDs are limited in number, anyone ordering what I consider to be an excess number of CDs (i.e. for selling on eBay) will have their order cancelled.

- The EIS Shop can be found here:

BBC Radio 2 'Lee Mack' Show

The BBC Radio 2 programme 'The Lee Mack Show' which Andy Bell is taking part in on 21st November 2006 (as previously mentioned) will be broadcast on BBC Radio 2 in Dec/Jan - so keep an eye on radio listings guides or the BBC Radio 2 website.

Andy will only be performing 2 songs - one of which will be quite short, so don't feel too disappointed if you couldn't one of the limited number of tickets, although check out the 'Wanted / For Sale' section of the EIS Forum to see if anyone is giving away tickets they no longer require.

I read the following thread on the forum:

and in one of those "it's late at night and therefore this seems a good idea" - I going to throw down the gauntlet and challenge you guys to post as many pictures of "Union Street" street signs from around the world in that thread as possible. I'll try and take a snap or two over the next few days.

Until next time!

EIS Shop Sale : Several Items No Longer Available

The 'Union Street Mug' and the 'Other People's Snogs T-shirt (36")' have now sold out and are no longer available.

The following items will shortly go out of stock as there are less than 10 of each remaining: 'EIS'04 T-shirt (Sizes M & L)', '3D Laser Etched Glass Collectable' and 'Nightbird Watch'. If you want any of these items for Christmas etc then I suggest you order them this week as they will not be restocked.

By the way I should have made it clearer in the last newsletter that although the EIS Shop has switched to using PayPal for payment, you do not need a PayPal account to pay for items from the EIS Shop - one can still use credit / debit cards via PayPal. This has the advantage of greatly speeding up the order process as I don't have to type in card numbers all day!

EIS Shop:

Moby / Debbie Harry - U-MYX Remix Technology

If you had fun with the remix software that featured on several recent Erasure singles, the maxi CD of the new Moby single 'New York, New York' (which is out this week) has similar functionality to enable you to create your own remix of 'New York, New York'. Once you have made your remix you can upload it onto a communal website where everyone can review and rate their mixes. Moby will pick his favourite fan mix and the winner will receive the latest iPod. One can also purchase the track as a download complete with the U-MYX remix technology (which works the same as the CD version.)

Yes I realise that was a rather blatent promo for a non-Erasure Mute release, but without Mute's support the forthcoming EIS releases would not be possible, so it's my way of saying thanks!

Until next time....

"Buried Treasure II" And "EIS Live"

For those of you with long memories, back in the late 90's the EIS released two CDs exclusively for the fan club. "Buried Treasure" (released 1997) featured various unreleased tracks and demos. The second CD "An Evening With Erasure" (released 1998) featured live tracks from the EIS Manchester gig.

As it's the 8th and 9th anniversaries of these releases, I figured that was the perfect excuse to do another two limited edition CDs!

- "Buried Treasure II" -

This will feature a variety of demos and unreleased material from various Erasure albums; including several tracks from the original "Loveboat" studio sessions plus Andy Bell's audition recordings from 21 years ago.

- "EIS Live" -

This will featured unreleased live tracks from the Manchester "An Evening With Erasure" gig and a selection of songs from the Leicester EIS'04 convention.

Further information, pricing, release date etc for these limited edition EIS CDs will be announced as soon as they are confirmed.

Lucy McKenzie: Ten Years of Robotic Mayhem

Change The EIS E-mail Newsletters?

I've been debating whether or not to send out HTML versions of the EIS E-mail Newsletters *as well* as these plain text versions.

An HTML formatted newsletter would allow for better formatted links, the inclusion of small images, and generally a more interesting layout. This would be in addition to the plain text e-mail newsletters that are currently sent out - you would decide which version you would like to receive.

So I need to see if there is sufficient demand for HTML formatted newsletters - so vote via the Erasure Forum here:

Erasure Show Costume Charity Auction

The 'Erasure Show Costume Charity Auction' will begin today (Tuesday 15th August.)

The items will be auctioned via eBay, and the proceeds will be donated to the charities 'Scope' and 'The Stroke Association'.

The list of items that will be auctioned are available within the EIS News section:

(Note that the page may take a while to download as it contains many graphics)

You may notice from the list that the auction items have been divided into eight groups - this is to allow the auction start time of each group to be staggered. This prevents all the auctions ending at exactly the same time, which can make bidding on multiple items difficult.

The start times for each group are:

Group 1 : 20:00 15th Aug (UK Time)

Group 2 : 20:15 15th Aug (UK Time)

Group 3 : 20:30 15th Aug (UK Time)

Group 4 : 20:45 15th Aug (UK Time)

Group 5 : 21:00 15th Aug (UK Time)

Group 6 : 21:15 15th Aug (UK Time)

Group 7 : 21:30 15th Aug (UK Time)

Group 8 : 21:45 15th Aug (UK Time)

All auctions will last for 10 days - and will conclude on Fri 25th August.

The actual eBay pages for each item won't be available for viewing until the start times as listed above - however if you keep an eye on this page:

www: then this will list all the auction items once they go live.

EQCA Equality Awards

At Equality California's (EQCA) 7th annual Equality Awards (held in Los Angeles), Andy Bell will be presented with EQCA's Equality Entertainment Award.

As a trailblazing gay public figure, Andy Bell has made a significant contribution to changing attitudes toward members of the LGBT community, and continues to serve as a role model for others both in and out of the spotlight.

The Equality Awards celebrate extraordinary and heroic contributions to the cause of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality.

In order to curtail this phenomenon, one will no longer be able to register new forum accounts with e-mail addresses from common free e-mail services (such as hotmail) from next week.

Note: this does *not* affect existing forum registrations.

Certain free e-mail services have already been blocked and this has had a very positive result in reducing spam accounts.

EIS Shop Update - Poster Pack

Free with any orders of £20.00 (GBP) or more from the EIS Shop is the following limited edition poster pack:

- 'Innocents' (folded) poster [w 29cm h 42cm] (Originally available with early editions of the Innocents vinyl album.)

- 'A Little Respect' poster [w 42cm h 59cm]

- 'Chorus' (album) poster [w 50cm h 71cm]

- 'I Say I Say I Say' poster [w 48cm h 71cm]

- 'Run To The Sun' poster [w 49cm h 68cm]

- 'Loveboat' poster [w 69cm h 22cm]

- 'Hits! The Very Best Of Erasure' [w 50cm h 70cm]

As these posters were promotional items I'm afraid that they can not be sold separately, only given away with other orders.

Please ensure that you add the poster pack to your basket if you wish to receive it with your order (if it comes to £20.00 or more) or else you will not receive it.

Note: The poster tubes (which are needed for shipping the posters out) don't arrive until next week, so I won't be processing any orders until they arrive.
